💩Poop Happens for Our Doggie Friends when Walking

It’s happened to all of us dog owners. We’re out for a nice walk with our furry friend, and then…oops! We forget to bring the dog poop bags. And then what do we do? Leave our poor pup to do his business on the sidewalk? Not anymore! This blog post is for all you dog owners who have found themselves in this unfortunate situation. I’m going to share some funny stories about my own experiences, as well as tips on how to deal with this mess when it happens.

I was walking my dog without any dog poop bags and, of course, he had to go. I saw a bush nearby and tried to hurry him over there, but he just wouldn’t cooperate. He kept going back and forth between the bush and me, until finally he pooped right in front of me. I was so embarrassed!

Thankfully, no one else was around to see it.

What Would You Do without Doggie Poo Bags?

If you forget your dog poop bags, there are a few things you can do. One is to try and find some biodegradable bags or leaves to pick it up with. If that’s not possible, then you can try and bury the waste as deep down as possible, making sure to cover it with soil and leaves. And finally, if all of that is not possible, then you can simply hold onto the waste until you get home.

Some reasons to always remember those pet waste bags when walking:

  1. Because your dog is embarrassed enough as it is.
  2. It’s unsanitary and can lead to diseases like toxocariasis, which can cause blindness in people.
  3. You’re basically asking for a ticket from a park ranger or Animal Control if you’re caught without poop bags.
  4. It’s just plain rude. Would you like it if someone left their trash all over the place?
  5. It’s really easy to carry around a few poop bags, so there’s no excuse not to have them handy when you take your dog for a walk.

Dog Waste Bags are Essential

As one friend wrote me confidentially:

I was out on a walk with my dog the other day when she stopped and squatted. I knew what was coming, and sure enough, she relieve herself right there on the sidewalk. I didn’t have any plastic pet waste bags with me, so I was embarrassed as I had to scoop it up with my bare hands. This isn’t the first time this has happened, and it always leaves me feeling icky. From now on, I’m going to make sure to always have plastic pet waste bags with me when I take my dog for a walk. That way, I can avoid the embarrassment of having to clean up after her in public.
